Yoga mat FAQs

Are yoga books and DVDs just as good as classes?

We are inclined to say no, they aren’t. While you can learn a lot of great info from books and DVDs, there is no replacement for an instructor. In a class, you can be taught what you are doing right, and what you are doing wrong. Also, an instructor can help you work past any weaknesses or disabilities you may have.

I am unusually tall, is there a mat that will fit me?
Yes, there are extra-long mats for very tall people, and extra-wide mats as well. If you cannot find these at your local yoga studio or sports store, searching online will provide you with some options.

Do I have to buy yoga clothing?

As long as what you have is functional, you aren’t required to buy special clothing. Just make sure your shirt is tight enough to not slip, and you have a complete range of motion.
